The red cow..

To you it looks like cuddly toy, to her its a little piece of love. Meet Jessamie's new friend, the red cow, who she has suddenly started playing with. We'll see whether this is a lasting affair or a passing thing! As the photos show, she likes to suck on its horns, (is she hoping for milk?! - it is, after all a cow..)
She's already able to push herself up from her front which is pretty good for her age - this was taken when she was 8 weeks - at this rate she'll soon be rolling over. She particularly likes practising "crawling" with a little help of an adult hand to push off against.

This week...

This week Jess cut the grass with Daddy, enjoyed a story book and had her first set of immunisations. I was worried that she would react badly to these but in fact after a brief yowl she was fine. I had thought we were settling into our supposed "evening routine" this week with her going to bed in her moses basket both Monday and Tuesday at 8.30pm - giving us some much needed space, with a feed at 10.30/11:00 ish and her then waking only at 2 ish and 5 ish. (Only!) But last night once again she let us know who was in control and refused to go to sleep until taken into our bed in desperation around midnight for another feed. I spent 11 hours feeding her yesterday - surely this must change soon, but she shows no sign of letting up - if anything now she wants to feed even more, and there are still no signs of her wanting to sleep at all in the daytime.

Run London

Jessamie and I went to cheer Adrian on in the Nike 10km in Hyde Park. She enjoyed being front facing in her baby carrier so that she could see all the runners. Adrian did fantastically well considering he'd had little sleep these last few weeks, and even less training! A very respectable time of 50.01, which beat the average time for the South team. Of course the South won, which was only to be expected! His photo finish can be seen at www.runlondon.com - although there are several people crossing the line that look very much like him!
