Baby friends!

Today we went to meet up with all the mums and babies we met through the antenatal classes. Although several of us have been meeting regularly this was the first time we all made it! It has been really valuable to be able to get out of the house and chat to others who are going through the same things. We're hoping to do walks in the park together and a trip to one of the "mums and babies" cinema screenings where it doesn't matter if the baby cries!

Learning to interact

A recent outing to meet some of her extended family; nanny and grandad, aunty Sue and uncle Paul, uncle Michael and cousins Sarah and Lucy, which was great fun. Grandad couldn't hold her as he thought he might be coming down with legionnaires disease. (Apparently he hasn't though which is good!) She was very good all day, and pretty sociable and willing to be held by all, but seemed a bit overexcited that evening and the next day and wouldn't sleep. We've decided not to take her on such long journeys for a few more weeks as this it seems that the enforced 2 and a half hour sleep in the car interferes with eating and generally makes for a grumpy baby!

First smile!

We had a visit from Mami and "Za-Za". The eagerly awaited first smile was more of a series of enormous grins - see picture here. O f course we've been trying to elicit similar smiles for the past few days... we've found she likes exaggerated kissing noises and whistling!

We had a visit from Grand Mamie (Mamie Flo) and Grand Papi (Jacques), from Paris who were delighted to meet their first great grandchild. Here are some of the photos..

Birth Day!

The first picture of Jess taken in hospital shortly after her birth on 15th August 2006, 08.25am. Weight 8lb 7. Her light hair came as a surprise.
